Are dreams reminders?

The past few weeks, I've been having dreams where my dad is a part of. Unfortunately, I don't remember those dreams now, but I think I may have typed some of them in my notes somewhere. But this isn't about those dreams, this is about the memories that those dreams reminded me of or memories with my dad that I don't want to forget like those dreams.

Last night, I was talking to my cousin and I remembered again how when I was in elementary, I used to go to school really early. How early? Sometimes, the school is still closed and I'm already there. So early that when I was in 6th grade, I have the keys to our building and classroom so we can go in even if our teacher wasn't there yet. Crazy, I know! It wasn't all of elementary. I think it started when I was in 5th grade. I remember, my dad quit his job around that time and for some reason, he started taking me to school. And I loved it because I love riding on my dad's motorcycle. I like car rides too but it's not as memorable for  me as motorcycle rides because I would just fall asleep in the car within 5 minutes from leaving the house. I've loved riding the motorcycle since I was little and I would be in front, like an accessory haha! And I've loved it even as I grew up and I was allowed to ride on the back of the motorcycle. I remember I would always rub my dad's belly haha

As a kid, I  know what my dad's motorcycle sounds like. I could hear it from the end of the street or from outside our store in the market. I would recognize my dad's motorcycle and I would be excitedly waiting to see his face, making a silly one for sure. I guess this is why I always make silly faces when I would first see my nephews and niece. My dad did that all the time and it was hilarious for me as a kid.

When I grew up, one of the most memorable for me was when my dad took me to UP Diliman to get an application form for the UPCAT. I remember being one of the firsts among my classmates to get and application form. I think the application form was available online, but for some reason, I wanted an actual form from the university. I was excited and I really wanted to go to UP, and my dad supported that so when he had business in QC which wouldn't take too long, he took me. I didn't end up going to UP, but that's another story. After we went to UP, we went to this condo that's being built where they had a project and I remember he made me wear a hard hat haha! and we went up the top floor of the building.

I have so many random memories like this. I think, every time I remember memories like this with my mom and my dad, I'll start writing them here. So in case I forget about them in the future as I grow older, I'll have this to look back to.
