What to celebrate?
It's mothers' day, and since last night, social media is flooded with everyone's greetings for their moms. When I woke up today, there's even more of it. And as much as how it makes me happy to see everyone posting their greetings and celebrations with their moms, it makes me sad.
It has been a few years now that I'm not able to celebrate mothers' day—or anything for that matter with my mom, but this one is a little more difficult than the others. Because unlike the other celebrations in the past, I couldn't go out or hang out with my friends to distract myself. I'm stuck at home because of the quarantine and I spend more time scrolling through social media. Every post makes me a bit sad and jealous, I guess, so I consciously made an effort to avoid scrolling through social media today. I will probably do the same for the next week. But I'm still glad to see a lot of people showing their moms so much love today. I hope you keep doing that and appreciate every little thing they do for you.
To my mom, I wouldn't know for sure if you could read this from heaven, but I'm hoping you could. I want to say that I miss you a lot and I'll forever be thankful for the way you raised me especially at times when I get frustrated with how some people are. Instead of always being angry, I just think I'm lucky I am the way that I am and a lot of it is because of you. You are also the reason why I'm strong or at least I try to be. I love you so much and I promise to always remember. Please tell dad I miss him too. And also, I started crocheting again! I still can't make it as good as you used too though haha
To all the mothers who'll read this, happy mothers' day! You are all amazing!
