I Traveled Alone for the First Time

I just got back from Bohol last Sunday, and I experienced a lot of firsts during this trip. It was my first time to fly alone. I was scared, to be honest. Not of flying, but of getting lost in the airport and getting left behind by my flight. The couple of times I've traveled, I was either with friends or family and I don't really pay attention to where we have to go in airports. So when I made it to Bohol, I was ecstatic until I had to get a ride from the airport to the hotel. Again, this is something I've never done before. It was an achievement for me when I reached the hotel. Haha!

I also joined tours alone for the first time. One of them I even had to book myself when I got there. And I made friends on that tour!! This was probably the most social I've been (because let's face it, I didn't have a choice) It was my first time to visit and swim in caves as well and I loved every moment of it, even the part where I had to swim in the water that is at least 15ft deep. It reinforced my mermaid dreams and I wanted to sing part of your world while inside the cave. Hahaha

Ever since I went to El Nido, I've always wanted to go on a motorcycle to tour around when out of town. I didn't exactly tour around, but I got to drive a motorcycle in Bohol and I'm so happy. I don't know, there's just some feeling of freedom in it. Probably because I only really drive a motorcycle around our barangay. lol

I've always wanted to travel alone, but to be honest, if I were to decide, I probably wouldn't have done it now. I would probably wait a couple years from now. Being left with no choice but to do it turned out great, I think. Although I wasn't really alone the whole time, it was an experience. Now I know that travelling alone isn't so bad afterall, save for the boredom when you're not touring around and the waking up early with no one to force you but yourself. Oh and also having to choose just one dish for a meal; because even if I eat a lot, I couldn't finish a meal for 2-3 people alone. I feel like I am now more independent and responsible as an adult. Haha

So if you want to experience travelling alone, do it. People who said you should try it at least once in your life wasn't wrong. Now that I've done it, I wouldn't mind doing it again. Just make sure that you stay cautious all the time, because it's better to be safe than sorry. Make sure you have enough money and do not spend too much because no one would lend you cash right there and then. And of course, enjoy the experience.
