Beach, please
I have been wanting to go to the beach and just lie on the sand. I want to just sit on the shore at night and watch the waves without thinking about anything. Or maybe let it all out and hope that the waves will take it away. I don't know when I would actually be able to do that, so I'm just sitting here, daydreaming and looking back to the last time I spent a night on the beach. And here's something I wrote after that night.
We all let out a deep sigh
Our spirits calmed by the sound of the waves
Hugged by the cold breeze in the air
We all let out a deep sigh
We know we could be anything,
We know we could be ourselves completely.
I realized how apt it was that it was the seventh day of the month
They say it signifies completeness, perfection
But we're not chasing perfection,
We're all just looking for direction.
As we laid ourselves on the beach,
Buried our feet in the sand,
Breathe in the ocean breeze,
We look up in the sky—
Amazed by the twinkling lights and shooting stars
We started dreaming out loud.
Acknowledged that our fears could be as deep as the sea
But we could be as strong as we let ourselves be
We know none of us is perfect
What's important is what we make of ourselves.
The waves lulled us to sleep, and we continued to dream
As I closed my eyes, I made another wish
I wished for more nights like this.

This was a few years ago and no day trip to the beach compares. Can I get another night like that again soon?
